3 September: SS was Accepted for Inclusion in Scopus.

1 August: SS was indexed in CNKI database.

29 June: SS was included in the list of journals following ICMJE recommended standards.

25 April: SS was indexed in J-Gate database.
19 April: SS was included in Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) databases.

16 February: SS announced the 2022 Best Paper Awards in recognition of authors for their particularly outstanding contributions to the journal.

30 December: SS released its 2022 Annual Report, sharing the development of the journal in 2022 from several aspects such as publication, Editorial Board, featured content, collaboration, citations and indexing.
November
11 November: SS officially became a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
October
25 October: The Second Youth Editorial Board Meeting was successfully held online. Twenty-four Youth Editorial Board members participated in the meeting.
August
31 August: SS was indexed in Dimensions.
15 August: SS was indexed in Lens.
12 August: Professor John A Rogers from Northwestern University, USA, led a webinar with the topic “Soft Electronic and Microfluidic Systems for the Skin” that was viewed by over 40,000 people, bringing the conference to an unprecedented number.
June
30 June: The Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Ren Zhifeng, was interviewed by the journal. Prof. Ren shared his initial intention of founding the journal, looking to the journal future development.
May
24 May: SS opened a column of Webinars. Prof. Xinge Yu led the first online webinar on the topic of “Skin electronics: From intelligent healthcare monitoring to touch VR in Metaverse”.
24 May: SS reached cooperation with ResearchGate.
April
21 April: The Awards for Best Paper in SS has been established to encourage researchers to engage in innovative research at the frontier of science and technology.
March
25 March: The First Editorial Board Meeting of SS was successfully held on March 25, 2022. Fourteen Editorial Board members participated in the meeting.

September
30 September: The First Youth Editorial Board Meeting was successfully held.
August
30 August: The inaugural issue of SS was officially published.
16 August: SS obtained the ISSN 2769-5441 (Online).
March
26 March: SS was officially launched. Prof. Zhifeng Ren, M.D. Anderson Chair Professor and director of Texas Center for Super Conductivity at University of Houston, served as the Founding Editor-in-Chief.
