Special Issue Introduction

Owing to their significant advantages, including high stability, uniform micropores, rigid framework, and strong acidity, zeolite catalysts have been extensively used in multiple important reactions within the petrochemical industry, such as catalytic cracking, isomerization, and aromatization. With the development of non-petroleum chemical reaction processes, zeolite-related catalysts also exhibited unusual catalytic performances in utilizing coal, natural gas, shale gas, and biomass resources. More recently, the conversion of CO2 and plastic wastes has become hot fields that strongly rely on the zeolite catalysts. It is becoming clear that the improvement in these processes will be mainly based on the design and synthesis of improved zeolite materials with controlled morphology, porosity, acidity, and synergism with different metal/oxide catalysts. Indeed, these new reaction processes also efficiently drive the development of eco-friendly zeolite material synthesis techniques.

Specific areas to be covered include, but are not limited to:

● Zeolite synthesis;

● Zeolite catalysts for methane conversion;

● Zeolite catalysts for syngas conversion;

● Zeolite catalysts for CO2 adsorption/conversion;

● Zeolite catalysts for plastic waste upcycling;

● Zeolite catalysts for dehydrogenation;

● Zeolite catalysts for biomass conversion;

● Zeolite catalysts for oxidation;

● Characterization techniques for zeolite catalysts.
