The second Editorial Board meeting of Cancer Drug Resistance (CDR) was successfully held on 16th June 2023 in Macao, China. Sixteen Editorial Board members attended the meeting, witnessing the progress and breakthroughs of CDR in 2023.

During the meeting, the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Godefridus J. Peters from the Cancer Center Amsterdam, Amsterdam University Medical Centers (Amsterdam UMC), the Netherlands, together with Editorial Board Members, primarily discussed a new column Special Collection. This new Special Collection aims to provide a professional and authoritative platform for the dissemination and exchange of cutting-edge knowledge on cancer drug resistance research. Encompassing a broader range of topics than regular Special Issues, this "Special Collection" will address all aspects related to cancer drug resistance. After careful consideration, the managing editor of CDR and three experts from the National Institutes of Health, USA, reached a consensus to organize the new Special Collection. The Special Collection titled "New Mechanisms of Multidrug Resistance" has already been released and can be accessed at:

The success of the second Editorial Board meeting of CDR was the result of joint efforts from all members.
