The Editorial Office of Journal of Cancer Metastasis and Treatment is pleased to announce that Prof. Jesús San-Miguel, Prof. Giuseppe Curigliano, Prof. Yudong Zhang, Prof. William C Cho, Dr. Yallapu Murali and Prof. Haijun Yu esteemed members of its Editorial Board, have been recognized as Highly Cited Researchers for 2023 by Clarivate.

This year's compilation honors 7,125 distinguished researchers from 67 countries and regions for their influential contributions. Inclusion in this prestigious list underscores the substantial impact of their published work, evidenced by their high citation counts and noteworthy research endeavors.

Prof. Jesús San-Miguel

Prof. Jesús San-Miguel, MD, PhD, Professor of Hematology (Chair) and Medical Director at the University of Navarra, Director of Translational Medicine at Cima Universidad of Navarra, and Director of Clinical and Translational Medicine at the University of Navarra, Center of Investigation Applied Medical, IDISNA, CIBERONC, Pamplona, Spain. With participation in over 160 communications at national and international conferences, contributions to 120 chapters and monographs, and more than 830 articles in international and 141 national journals, Prof. San-Miguel’s impact on the field is extensive. His involvement in 50 national, 5 European and 2 American research projects, and, notably, more than 35 clinical trials as a principal investigator exemplifies his dedication to advancing medical science.

Prof San-Miguel has received numerous awards, including the Waldenstöm Award, EBMT Lecture, Kyle Lifetime Achievement Award, Jose Carreras EHA Award, Ham-Wasserman Lecture Award, Rey Jaime I Award in Clinical Medicine, and the Spanish Prizes in both oncology and translational research.

Prof. Giuseppe Curigliano

Prof. Giuseppe Curigliano is Associate Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Milano and the Head of the Division of Early Drug Development at the European Institute of Oncology, IRCCS, Italy. He is a clinician and researcher specializing in early drug development and target-oriented therapies for solid tumors, particularly breast cancer. He has been a member of the Italian National Health Council since 2018 and, in 2019, served as Chair of the Scientific Committee of The Lega Nazionale Lotta ai Tumori. Prof. Curigliano has also been a Member of the ESMO Breast Cancer Faculty since 2001 and he is currently the Faculty Coordinator. He has also served on the Scientific Committee for the St Gallen Conference since 2011, and was the Scientific Co-Chair in St Gallen 2017 and 2019. Additionally, he also serves on the European School of Oncology (ESO) faculty committee. Prof. Curigliano was awarded the first ESO Umberto Veronesi Award in Vienna in 2017 and the Fellowship of the European Academy of Cancer Sciences in Paris in 2017.

Prof. Yudong Zhang

Prof. Yudong Zhang serves as a Chair Professor at the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Leicester, UK. His research interests include deep learning and medical image analysis. He is Fellow of IET, EAI, BCS. He is the Senior Member of IEEE, IES, and ACM. He is the Distinguished Speaker of ACM. He was included in Most Cited Chinese Researchers (Computer Science) by Elsevier from 2014 to 2018. He was included in World’s Top 2% Scientist by Stanford University from 2020 to 2022. He is 2019, 2021, 2022 & 2023 recipient of Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher. He won the Emerald Citation of Excellence 2017, MDPI Top 10 Most Cited Papers 2015, Information Fusion 2022 Best Paper Award, etc. He is the author of over 300 peer-reviewed articles, including more than 50 ESI Highly Cited Papers and 5 ESI Hot Papers. His three papers are included in UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.

His citation reached 30362 in Google Scholar (h-index 99) and 17232 in Web of Science (h-index 72) till Dec/2023. He has conducted many successful industrial projects and academic grants from NIH, Royal Society, GCRF, EPSRC, MRC, British Council, and NSFC. He has given over 120 invited talks at international conferences, universities, and companies. He has served as (Co-)Chair for more than 60 international conferences and workshops.

Prof. William C. Cho

Prof. William Cho is a Chartered Scientist (UK), Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner, and Fellow Member of several institutes, including the Institute of Biomedical Science (UK), Hong Kong Institute of Biomedical Science, and Hong Kong Society for Molecular Diagnostic Sciences. He dedicates his research to cancer biomarkers, non-coding RNA, genomics, proteomics, next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, meta-analysis, etc. Prof. Cho has published more than 600 peer-reviewed papers and dozens of books.

Dr. Murali M. Yallapu

His research primarily focuses on studying nanoformulations to understand their role in targeted drug delivery and treatment. Dr. Yallapu works on developing innovative therapeutic strategies, including targeted delivery systems and immunotherapy for cancer treatment. He designs anti-tumor drug formulations, creates self-assembling polymer materials, and explores their applications in cancer therapy, such as photodynamic therapy and hyperthermia.

Prof. Haijun Yu

Prof. Haijun Yu is the project leader, doctoral supervisor, researcher at Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is mainly engaged in research on targeted drug delivery systems and bioactive carrier materials. He was selected as a national leader in scientific and technological innovation, has received funding from the National "Outstanding Youth" Fund. He is an outstanding member of the Youth Innovative Talents Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a member of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's innovative research group, a key member of the innovation team in key areas of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a member of the Chinese Biophysical Society Nano Vice president of the Biology Branch, vice president of the Intelligent Diagnosis and Materials Biology Branch of the Chinese Biophysical Society, standing member of the Nanobiotechnology Branch of the Chinese Medical Biotechnology Association, senior member of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, and evaluation expert of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published more than 140 SCI papers in journals such as Sci Immunol, Nat Commun, Sci Adv, Adv Mater, etc. His papers have been cited more than 9,000 times and he was selected as a Highly Cited Scientist in 2022. He has won the National Natural Science Level II, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association Youth Biopharmaceutical Award, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association Youth Pharmacy Award, the Sanofi-Shanghai Academy of Biological Sciences Outstanding Young Talent Award, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association Science and Technology Award First Prize and other awards.
