The 108th American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting was held in Washington from April 1 to 5, 2017. The AACR Annual Meeting 2017 highlighted the latest, best discoveries in every area of cancer research and provided a unique opportunity for investigators from all over the world to meet, interact, and share their insights. Some highlights of the conference were: Dr. Michael Prados from San Francisco systematically explained the occurrence of Glioblastoma, its development, and future research directions in his presentation, "Glioblastoma: Where we are, where we have been, and where is next"; Dr. Timothy Cloughesy shared a presentation entitled, “Missing link in CNS anticancer drug development: Early markers of (sub) clinical effect”; Dr. Ellen Puré chaired the session, “Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy for Non-immunologists: Immune Suppression and Overcoming It to Enhance Antitumor Therapies” which brought cutting-edge research information to immunotherapy scholars.
During the meeting, we met the Associate Editors of JCMT, Dr. Godefridus J. (Frits) Peters, Dr. Pran K. Datta, Dr. Jianjian Li, and Dr. Yaguang Xi, and the Editorial Board members, Dr. Antonio Cheung, Dr. Brunilde Gril, Dr. Rossana Berardi, Dr. Qiang Shen, and Dr. Athanassios P. Kyritsis, to discuss the development of the JCMT journal. The group discussed our achievements to date and encouraged us to continue to insist on rigorous peer review and high quality articles, to ensure that the excellence of the journal is maintained, and to persist in promoting JCMT widely through international conferences. We are confident that JCMT will become a first-class international academic journal in the field of cancer metastasis and treatment.
