Welcome Prof. Xiang Bai and Prof. Hani Hagras Join Intelligence & Robotics as Associate Editors
The Editorial Office of Intelligence & Robotics (IR) proudly announces the addition of two distinguished professors to its editorial board. We extend our sincere gratitude to Prof. Xiang Bai and Prof. Hani Hagras for their trust and support for IR. As Associate Editors, they will provide valuable insights and guidance to enhance the impact of IR further. We firmly believe their participation will bring a broader international perspective to the journal.
Prof. Xiang Bai is the Dean of the School of Software Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Director of the Hubei Engineering Research Center for Machine Vision and Intelligent Systems, Deputy Director of the National Anti-counterfeit Engineering Research Center, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence, Deputy Director of Chinese Association of Automation Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence Special Committee, IAPR fellow, and Chairman of IEEE SPS Wuhan Chapter.
His research interests focus on Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, and Deep Learning. He has published more than 250 papers in journals and academic conferences at home and abroad, including more than 80 JCR Q1 journals and CCF Class A papers. The scene text detection and recognition technology developed by his team has been widely used in many products or systems such as Huawei, WeChat, Alibaba, and Meituan, achieving substantial economic and social benefits.
Prof. Hani Hagras is the Director of Impact, Director of the Computational Intelligence Centre, and Head of the Artificial Intelligence Research Group, in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, University of Essex, UK. He is a Fellow of IEEE, IET, and AAIA and a Principal Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
His main research interests include Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) and Data Science with applications to Finance, Cyber-physical Systems, Neuroscience, Life Sciences, Uncertainty Management, Intelligent Robotics, and Intelligent Control of Industrial Processes. He has authored more than 400 papers in international journals, conferences, and books. He holds 11 industrial patents in the field of XAI. He is also an Associate Editor of many journals including IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge-Based Systems, Cognitive Computations, and others.

Their appointment underscores the journal's commitment to excellence and dedication to providing a platform for disseminating groundbreaking advancements in the field.
