Cover Picture: Non Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) performed by whole genome sequencing provides data that can be used for detection of viral fragments in maternal blood. These viruses are known to play a role during pregnancy, and may be important for both fetal and maternal health. In this issue, Linthorst et al. discuss the virus-specific fragment length distributions observed, and how they can be used in clinical practice. The cover image represents the fragment length distributions of viral, fetal, chromosomal and mitochondrial cell free DNA fragments from 83,552 NIPT samples. Data were graphically adapted using artificial intelligence methods by Joe Harrison (www.matigekunstintelligentie.com).
