International StemNet Meeting will take place in Bologna (Italy) on March 12-13, 2026. StemNet is a federation of the four main associations of stem cell research in Italy (FIRST, GISM, IPLASS, SCRI) that share and synergize experiences to enhance both the quality and the impact of research in this advancing field. This meeting marks the constructive relationship among our associations and aims to improve the exchange of relevant and up-to-date information in the field of advanced cell therapy. The six sessions of the meeting will spotlight relevant progress in basic and translational research. About: The 8th International GEIVEX symposium will be held on October 6-9, 2026, in Bilbao, a remarkable cultural and gastronomical city on the northern coast of Spain.
GEIVEX is a consolidated non-profit organization aiming to advance personalized medicine by developing new tools and biomarkers with high social impact to generate benefits and equality in global health.
We believe that the combination of basic and clinical research, as in many other fields, is the basis for translational extracellular vesicle (EV) studies that will lead to future approaches to disease. To achieve productive discussions and maintain the excellent standards of our symposium, we are already working on providing a broad scope of sessions covering the latest technological advances, fundamental knowledge, and EV-based applications, with high-quality keynote speakers for each session.
Based on the previous success experiences of the GEIVEX symposium in Santiago de Compostela (2022) and Palma de Mallorca (2024), we are also planning an Educational Day workshop on the pre-meeting day (October 6th) under the theme “Practical sessions to explore new EV-focused technological advances”.
