Special Issue Introduction

This Special Issue is designed to provide a comprehensive exploration into the intricate facets of skeletal muscle metabolism, shedding light on current understandings of regulatory mechanisms, adaptive responses, and their profound implications for overall health. Skeletal muscle, well recognized for its pivotal role in movement, emerges as a central focal point in comprehending the regulation of whole-body metabolism.

Special Issue will feature insights from leading international researchers, presenting their latest findings and perspectives. Their studies will delve into the nuanced cellular mechanisms governing skeletal muscle metabolism, investigating the roles of hormones, signaling pathways, and gene expression. Furthermore, the adaptations of skeletal muscle to diverse conditions will be discussed, examining how factors such as exercise, nutrition, and disease contribute to shaping muscle functionality.

The primary goal of this Special Issue is to be a catalyst for advancing our understanding regarding skeletal muscle metabolism, offering valuable insights for researchers, medical professionals, and health enthusiasts eager to optimize skeletal muscle function. We anticipate that these contributions will not only deepen our comprehension of the contribution of skeletal muscle to overall health but also pave the way for future breakthroughs in both research and clinical applications.
