OAE Launches a New Journal for Materials Science - Soft Science
On March 26, 2021, the new journal Soft Science was officially released online. Soft Science is an international peer-reviewed, open access online journal launched by OAE Publishing Inc., which is expected to become the flagship high-impact journal in materials science. It focuses on the field of mechanically soft, deformable and deployable materials, devices and systems.
Zhifeng Ren, an M. D. Anderson chair professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Houston and the director of the Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston (TcSUH), has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the newly launched scientific journal Soft Science.
Professor Ren is a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, a fellow of the American Physical Society and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His recent research interests include: high-performance thermoelectric materials; nanomaterials for enhanced oil recovery; high-performance catalysts for water splitting; high thermal conductivity materials and management; novel filters for catching and killing viruses; solar energy conversion; superconductivity; carbon nanotubes and nanocomposites, and flexible transparent electrodes. He has published 560 papers with more than 78,000 citations and an H index of 126.
Dr. Cunjiang Yu from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Houston, and Dr. Chuanfei Guo from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the Southern University of Science and Technology of China are the Editors to work together with Dr. Ren to manage the review process.
Soft Science is ready for accepting papers now, and papers will be reviewed within two-five weeks and published online right after they are accepted. The inaugural issue of the journal is expected to be published in September 2021.
