President (2014-2016) of the International Society for Neuroimmunology as our Honorary Editor-in-Chief for NN
The "2017 International Summit Forum on Translational Neurology" was held successfully during July 21-23 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China. Basic researchers and clinical experts both from China and abroad were invited to attend, along with representatives of research institutions and businesses, while Neuroimmunology and Neuroinflammation (NN) editorial team members in attendance included Rui-Rui Zhang and A-Ni Yuan. There was a presentation about the aims of the conference, namely to provide a forum for those working in the field of clinical neurology, facilitate continuing education and training for clinicians, foster exchange of information about new technologies for clinical diagnosis and treatment, and promote clinical translation of medical research through these in-depth academic exchanges.
On July 22, our team members listened carefully to lectures by experts from all over the world, and learnt about the dynamic state of and latest achievements in research into cerebral ischemia, cerebral hemorrhage, neurological rehabilitation, neurodegenerative disease, nerve involvement, and transformation of treatments for vertigo. Our team also spent time on discussion with the experts after the meeting.
Our team was honored to listen to a lecture entitled: “Bench to bedside translational medicine: steps” by the Honorary Conference President, President (2014-2016) of the International Society for Neuroimmunology, Academician of Canada’s Royal Academy of Sciences, and the Canada Research Chair in Neuroimmunology, Professor V. Wee Yong. The managing Editor of NN journal, Rui-Rui Zhang, introduced basic information about the journal including our policies on open access, peer review, Editorial Board members, published articles, and database indexing, etc. After careful consideration, Prof. Yong accepted our sincere invitation, in the name of our Editor-in-Chief, Professor Gang Zhao, and was willing to join us as Honorary Editor-in-Chief.
Meanwhile, Prof. Yong also recommended Professor Meng-Zhou Xue, a doctoral supervisor at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University and Adjunct Professor at the University of Calgary, to our journal as an Editorial Board member who could make valuable contributions to NN.
