The Editorial Staff of NN Attended the Chinese Leading Academic Conference of Neurology
The 19th National Conference of Neurology took place in Guangzhou, China, sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association (CMA) and hosted by Guangdong Medical Association during September 22-25, 2016. The annual conference of Chinese Medical Association of neurology has been recognized as the most authoritative, world-class academic research organization in the area of neurology in mainland China.
This conference has attracted more than 6,000 participants to attended, which soared to record highs. Under the leadership of Prof. Gang Zhao, the Editor-in-Chief of Neuroimmunology and Neuroimfalmmtion (NN), the two editorial members working at OAE Publishing Inc. attended the conference.
This conference was centered around a wide range of topics relevant to cerebrovascular diseases, neurointervention, neuroimaging, epilepsy, cognitive impairment, myopathyand peripheral neuropathy, neuroelectrophysiology, degenerative diseases, infectious diseases, demyelinating diseases, immune diseases, inherited metabolic diseases, neurological rehabilitation, emotional disorders, headache and sleep disturbances as well as other nervous system diseases. Participants from all over the world engaged in extensive discussion and in-depth knowledge exchange in terms of basic and clinical research progress of the topics aforementioned.
Some keynote speakers as distinguished scholars were invited to give talks and organize symposiums. A variety of approaches used for knowledge sharing and exchange were adopted during the conference, such as paper communications, group discussion, typical case analysis and so forth. Through this conference, the editorial staff of NN have learnt a lot about up-to-dated research outputs in the field of neurology as well as new research progress related to neuroimmunology and neuroinflammation.
As one of the Vice Presidents of this conference, Prof. Gang Zhao, the Editor-in-Chief of NN, briefly introduced the purpose, history and status-quo of NN to the participating experts in the Session of “Neuroinfection and Cerebrospinal Fluid Cytology”, and invited and welcomed valuable suggestions and guidance from the expert audience worldwide.
Most experts provided constructive feedback and valuable suggestions as well. First, they complimented the OAE staff’s professional dedication to promoting medical academic research. Second, approximately ten experts including Prof. Niantong Lin from the Department of Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University and Prof. Serge Gauthier from McGill University, Research Centre for Studies in Aging Douglas Mental Health University Institute provided invaluable and constructive suggestions for resource integration, the journal’s overall positioning and so on. The editorial staff carefully recorded each suggestion and gave full consideration of all the excellent suggestions for further improvement. Last but not the least, the experts expressed high expectations on the bright future of NN, and provided concrete support for the development of NN by contributing manuscripts and promoting the journal among peers. All of these indeed gave the editorial staff the sense of high confidence and strong encouragement.
In a nutshell, by attending this conference, the editorial staff of NN have not only gained an understanding of the latest research outputs in the field of neurology, but also broadened their views and updated the accumulation of their knowledge on medical research.
Meanwhile, they deeply communicated and exchanged ideas with several experts in terms of the development of NN; they also had the great opportunity to cooperate with some experts in future. This represents another breakthrough of team cohesion. In addition, all editorial staff had strong feelings about the responsibility and mission of the journal in the development of academic research in the field of neurology. As a consequence, they shoulder heavy responsibility but are clearly knowing that NN has a long way to go. “I see no ending, yet high and low I'll search with my will unbending.” They will keep faith with providing high-quality service for authors, readers, and neurologists in future publication processes. With the leadership and guidance of the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Gang Zhao, NN will become a professional, up-to-dated, innovative, high-quality, and influential academic journal around the world.
