We are delighted to announce that 41 Editorial Board members from Microbiome Research Reports (MRR) have earned recognition in the prestigious 2025 World's Top 2% Scientists List, recently released by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier.

This esteemed list recognizes scientists in two categories: Career-long scientific impact and Single-year scientific impact. Of the 41 members from MRR, all were acknowledged for their exceptional contributions in the past year. Additionally, 20 of these members were recognized for both their sustained career-long contributions and their impact in the most recent year.

Recognition Chart

This comprehensive ranking, developed by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis and his team at Stanford University, in collaboration with Elsevier, employs the C-score, a composite indicator that combines six key citation metrics—total citations (with and without self-citations), h-index, and hm-index—across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields. This rigorous evaluation process evaluates the scientific influence of nearly 7 million worldwide, making it one of the most authoritative benchmarks for assessing global scientific impact.

The inclusion of so many of our Editorial Board Members in this prestigious list underscores their exceptional contributions to scientific research and also highlights the growing reputation of MRR in advancing the field of microbiome research.

At MRR, we remain committed to promoting high-impact research and facilitating collaboration among global experts. As we continue to publish groundbreaking studies, we look forward to supporting the ongoing contributions of our Editorial Board Members and fostering innovative research in microbiome research.
