The 4th Editorial Board Meeting of Mini-invasive Surgery Successfully Held
The 4th Editorial Board Meeting of Mini-invasive Surgery (MIS) was successfully held on July 18, 2025, bringing together distinguished participants including Honorary Editor-in-Chief Prof. Michel Gagner, Editors-in-Chief Prof. Giulio Belli and Prof. Lianxin Liu, and 35 Editorial Board members from 12 countries. The meeting served as a key opportunity to review the journal’s progress in the first half of 2025 and to discuss strategic directions for future development.
• Opening Remarks
The meeting began with a welcome address by newly appointed Co-Editor-in-Chief Prof. Lianxin Liu, followed by a congratulatory message from Prof. Giulio Belli. Prof. Belli warmly acknowledged Prof. Liu's appointment and emphasized the importance of global collaboration in strengthening editorial leadership.

Managing Editor Ms. Irene Liu presented a comprehensive progress report covering the past six months, which included:
-Submission and publication statistics
-Rejection and acceptance rates
-Progress in database indexing
-Updates on the journal’s impact factor and CiteScore
-Development plans for the upcoming period
• Strategic Discussion
Editors-in-Chief Prof. Gagner and Prof. Belli led an in-depth discussion on several priority areas:
-Increasing the proportion of original research and high-quality invited content
-Planning strategies for future Impact Factor growth
-Establishing a Quality Control Committee
-Expanding promotional efforts to enhance academic visibility
• Key Suggestions from Editorial Board Members
Editorial Board members contributed valuable suggestions to support the journal's continued growth:
-Ensure balanced representation across geographic regions and specialties
-Establish a “Young Surgeon Section” to support early-career researchers
-Strengthen collaborations with academic societies and serve as their official publication partner
-Highlight MIS’s rapid peer review as a key strength
-Offer incentives for reviewers, particularly for second-round reviews
-Introduce interdisciplinary sections related to minimally invasive surgery
-Collaborate with professional societies to organize online and offline academic events
