Great News: A New Journal Soft Science Officially Released Online
On March 26, 2021, a new journal Soft Science was officially released online. It is an international peer-reviewed, open access online journal launched by OAE Publishing Inc., which aims to become a flagship high-impact journal in the field of materials science. It focuses on mechanically soft, deformable and deployable materials, devices and systems.
Zhifeng Ren, an M. D. Anderson Chair Professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Houston and the Director of the Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston (TcSUH), has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the newly launched journal Soft Science.

Professor Ren is a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, a fellow of the American Physical Society and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His recent research interests include: high-performance thermoelectric materials; nanomaterials for enhanced oil recovery; high-performance catalysts for water splitting; high thermal conductivity materials and management; novel filters for catching and killing viruses; solar energy conversion; superconductivity; carbon nanotubes and nanocomposites, and flexible transparent electrodes. He has published 560 papers with more than 78,000 citations and an H index of 126.
Dr. Cunjiang Yu from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Houston, and Dr. Chuanfei Guo from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the Southern University of Science and Technology of China are the Editors to work together with Dr. Ren to manage the review process.
