Journal Title Change Announcement

Published on: 2 Sep 2025 Viewed: 9

The Editorial Office is pleased to announce an important update regarding the journal’s identity. Effective immediately, the publication formerly known as Water Emerging Contaminants & Nanoplastics (WEC&Nhas been officially renamed Emerging Contaminants and Environmental Health (ECEH).

Reason for the Change

Since its launch, WEC&N has served as a dedicated platform for research on the occurrence, behavior, and impacts of emerging contaminants, especially micro- and nanoplastics in aquatic environments. As the field has evolved and research horizons have broadened, it has become evident that addressing critical environmental challenges requires a more integrative approach—one that considers the interplay among diverse contaminants and their effects on both environmental and human health.

In response, the new title, Emerging Contaminants and Environmental Health (ECEH), has been thoughtfully selected to better reflect the journal’s expanded scope. ECEH now welcomes high-quality research on a wider range of chemical, biological, and physical pollutants, as well as interdisciplinary studies investigating their environmental and public health implications. This evolution reinforces our commitment to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and providing a comprehensive platform for addressing pressing global environmental challenges.

Continuity and Integrity

We emphasize that this change affects only the journal’s title. The journal’s rigorous editorial standards, impartial peer-review process, and dedication to publishing high-quality open-access research remain unchanged.

To ensure a seamless transition, all articles previously published under WEC&N have been fully migrated to ECEH. These publications remain permanently accessible, citable, and integrated under the new title. Indexing, archiving, and referencing services will be updated accordingly to maintain the continuity and visibility of all published content.

This rebranding marks a new chapter for the journal. With a broader and more inclusive scope, ECEH aims to strengthen its position as a leading international forum for cutting-edge research spanning environmental contamination, ecological integrity, and public health.

We sincerely thank our authors, reviewers, and readers for their ongoing support. We warmly invite you to join us in this new phase and welcome your valuable contributions to Emerging Contaminants and Environmental Health (ECEH).
