Introducing Energy Materials (EM)
Targeting students in chemistry and energy materials, OAE Publisher Yang Xu spotlighted Energy Materials (EM), OAE’s flagship journal. Dedicated to advancing materials science and engineering for energy conversion and storage, EM addresses the critical challenges of sustainable energy for the future. Remarkably, the journal has achieved its very first Impact Factor of 11.8, placing it firmly in the top 10% of both subject categories and securing a Q1 ranking.
This milestone, together with Yang Xu’s presentation, offered students an inspiring glimpse into EM’s academic influence and global relevance. Attendees not only discovered the journal’s outstanding achievements and growth potential but also gained valuable insights into cutting-edge research trends shaping the field—providing a strong reference point for their own future research endeavors.

How to Respond to Reviewers
In today’s academic landscape, publishing in SCI journals is essential for graduate students. At the workshop, Junyan Wang, OAE Manuscript Processing Manager, delivered a focused session on how to effectively respond to reviewers, address initial rejection, and uphold ethical standards in academic writing.
She emphasized the importance of replying to reviewers with humility and thorough, point-by-point responses; viewing initial rejection as an opportunity to improve research direction or structure; and avoiding practices such as simultaneous submissions and plagiarism to safeguard academic integrity.
These practical insights equip students with the skills to improve their chances of publication, adhere to ethical research practices, and build a solid foundation for their future scientific careers.
