Dr Stefano Ballestri graduated in Medicine summa cum laude in 2003, specialized in Internal Medicine in 2008 and gained a PhD Degree in Clinical and Experimental Medicine School in 2012, at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. In 2010-2011 he was Visiting Researcher at Institute of Cellular Medicine of Newcastle University (UK). He is now Internal Medicine Senior Consultant at Division of Internal Medicine of Pavullo Hospital, with highly specialized professional position in Vascular and Internal Medicine Ultrasonography. He is a member of the following scientific societies: FADOI- Italian Federation of the Associations of Internal Medicine Consultants, SIAPAV- Italian Society of Angiology and Vascular Pathology, SIECVI- Italian Society of Ecocardiography and CardioVascular Imaging. He acts as reviewer for several international journals. He is member of the Editorial Board of Exploration of Medicine, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health and Livers. He is member of the advisory board of Advances in Therapy. His research interests include: NAFLD; metabolic syndrome; association between NAFLD and cardiovascular diseases; ultrasonography. In the field, he is author of 65 publications on international journals.
