The first Editorial Board meeting of Carbon Footprints (CF) was successfully held on April 11, 2023. Twenty-four esteemed Editorial Board members who witnessed CF's remarkable progress and breakthroughs made by CF in 2022-2023 attended the meeting.

Agenda of the meeting:
1. Brief introduction of OAE Publishing company
2. The current progress of CF in publication, Special Issues, webinars, interviews, and Editorial Board;
3. Short-term and long-term goals of CF;
4. Acknowledgment to Editorial Board members who have made great contributions in 2022 & 2023;
5. Free discussion.

The meeting started with a presentation of OAE Publishing Inc. by Haidi Ding, Publishing Manager. The progress of CF in publication, Special Issues, webinars, interviews, and the Editorial Board was discussed in detail.

The development plan of CF, including the short-term and long-term goals of the journal, was presented by Haidi Ding in the second part. She emphasized the importance of high-quality manuscripts for the journal's long-term success.

The Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Yong Geng, and the Editorial Board members actively participated in a free discussion during the final part of the meeting. They shared their insight into important issues such as manuscript invitation, manuscript processing, database, topic selection, award sets, publicity, and external cooperation and provided valuable professional advice.

It was agreed that maintaining continuity in publication, publishing high-quality manuscripts, and keeping an effective review process are critical to the journal's success. There was also a recommendation to exercise caution in constructing Special Issues and doubts about the quality of certain articles should never be ignored. Manuscript processing timelines are highlighted as a key to authors' decisions on journal selection. Suggestions regarding topic selection, including exploring the fields of environmental and ecological economics and achieving carbon-neutral plastic production and recycling, are also put forward. The Editorial Office will carefully consider all suggestions and provide full assistance to associate editors, authors, and reviewers.

Finally, Prof. Geng expressed his confidence in the development of the journal and his expectation to unite the strength of all members to work as a team, support each other, and develop CF into a high-level journal.

The Editorial Office of CF is grateful to all the attendees for their valuable contributions and will continue to collaborate with every Editorial Board member in achieving the goals of CF. The first Editorial Board Meeting of CF was a resounding success, and we look forward to many more productive meetings in the future.
