Professor Damià Barceló, Water Emerging Contaminants & Nanoplastics Editorial Board member, Ranked Third Best Environmental Scientist Globally by Research.com

Recently, Research.com revealed the list of the 2nd edition of the best researchers in the field of Environmental Sciences. This list relies on data derived from various data sources including OpenAlex and CrossRef. The bibliometric data for evaluating the citation-based metrics were acquired on 21-12-2022. Position in the ranking is based on a scientist's D-index (Discipline H-index), which only includes publications and citation data for an examined discipline.

Prof. Damià Barceló, one of the Editorial Board members of Water Emerging Contaminants & Nanoplastics (WEC&N) and aslo one of the Guest Editors of of the special issue entitled "Environmental Behavior and Ecotoxicological Effects of Micro (nano) Plastics", has been ranked third globally in the Research.com ranking of the best researchers in the field of Environmental Sciences.

Prof. Damià Barceló is a Research Professor in the field of Environmental Chemistry with the goal of solving different environmental problems in the field of water quality. He was a Visiting Professor at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 2009-2015. He has been a Full Research Professor at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Studies IDAEA-CSIC (Barcelona, Spain) since 1999, Director of the Catalan Institute of Water Research (ICRA) (Girona, Spain) since May 2008 and Full Professor Chair in Biology at College of Science under Distinguished Scientist Fellowship Programme (DSFP) at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since October 2016. His scientific focus is on the Fate and Risk of Emerging Pollutants such as Pharmaceuticals, Nanomaterials and Microplastics in the Environment, Multiple Stressors in Rivers, and Water Pollution Control and Protection under Scarcity.
