Cover Picture: This study assessed heavy metal (HM) contamination (Cu, Zn, Mn, Fe, Cd, Pb) and associated ecological and human health risks in beach sediments from Kolatoli Beach, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Sediments were mainly sandy (93.72%), with minor silt and clay fractions. HM concentrations followed the order Fe > Mn > Cu > Zn > Pb > Cd. Index analyses (Igeo, CF, PLI) indicated anthropogenic enrichment of Cu and Pb, while other metals remained near background levels. The potential ecological risk index (PERI: 29.24–42.37) suggested low overall risk. Human health risk assessment showed hazard index (HI < 1) and carcinogenic risk (TCR ≤ 5.99 × 10-6) within safe limits, though children were more susceptible. Overall, the sediments exhibited low to moderate HM contamination with limited ecological and health risks.
