Special Topic Introduction
This Special Issue of Mini-invasive Surgery is designed to convey the step-by-step technical aspects of actually performing the specific robotic procedure to the reader. Although robotic surgery has become a transformative force in thoracic surgery, most experts still agree that the educational efforts have not been effective in transforming the enthusiasm of new robotic surgeons into successful practice. Historically, educational programs were led by the manufacturers and designed to familiarize the surgeons with the robotic platform. There has been a paucity of educational efforts that provide procedure-oriented technical instructions. This Special Issue provides new robotic surgeons with step-by-step procedural guidance written by some of the most experienced robotic surgeons in the world.
