Special Topic Introduction
The growing demand for high-efficiency electromagnetic protection, wave absorption, and interference control is driving increased interest in advanced composite electromagnetic absorbers. Advances in material synthesis, microstructural design, and multifunctional composite engineering are enabling the development of next-generation electromagnetic absorbers with broader absorption bandwidths, lighter weight, improved stability, and tunable electromagnetic performance.
This Special Issue aims to highlight recent progress in the design and characterization of composite materials for electromagnetic applications. We invite contributions focused on novel absorber structures, magnetic-dielectric synergy, hierarchical or hybrid composites, and emerging absorption mechanisms that enhance electromagnetic wave attenuation. Studies employing modeling, simulation, or advanced characterization techniques are also highly encouraged to provide deeper insights into the interplay among material structure, composition, and electromagnetic performance.
By bringing together interdisciplinary research efforts, this Special Issue seeks to advance the development of high-performance electromagnetic absorbers, with applications spanning wireless communications, sensing, stealth technologies, and electromagnetic compatibility.
