Topic: The Role of Non-coding RNAs in Cardiovascular Aging and Diseases

Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) are a group of functional RNA transcripts that are not translated into proteins. They comprise several major categories, including microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), endogenous small interfering RNAs (endo-siRNAs), transfer RNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs), and Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs). Recent studies have revealed that ncRNAs play critical roles in cardiovascular biology and disease pathogenesis. Thus, dissecting the biogenesis and functions of ncRNAs will provide new insights into the molecular basis of cardiovascular aging and diseases, and may facilitate the identification of novel diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for cardiovascular diseases.

Scope of the Special Issue:

This Special Issue aims to present the latest advances and findings on the roles of non-coding RNAs in cardiovascular aging, including but not limited to:

Newly identified downstream targets of non-coding RNAs in the development of cardiovascular aging;

Cross-talk betweennon-coding RNAs andproteins, other RNA species, or cellular components in the context of cardiovascular aging.
