Topic: Advancement of Imaging Diagnosis of Liver Cancer

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a world-wide health care problem, being the 6th most common cancer and the 4th leading cause of cancer death. It is estimated that more than 1 million patients will die from liver cancer in 2030.
A majority of HCCs are now diagnosed by imaging without tissue confirmation, so imaging plays a critical role in the diagnosis and the management of HCC.
Liver imaging reporting and data system (LI-RADS) is a standardized system for technique, interpretation, reporting and data collection for the diagnosis of HCC in high risk patients and it now includes US surveillance, CT/MR/CEUS diagnostic algorithm and CT/MRI treatment response.
In this Special Issue of Hepatoma Research, advancement of imaging diagnosis of HCC will be discussed by the experts in the field, from HCC surveillance with US and alternative approach with MRI, diagnosis and treatment response assessment with CT, MRI and CEUS.
