Topic: Recurrence and Prognosis of Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma: Basic and Clinical Research

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is the second most common malignant tumor of the liver in humans, following hepatocellular carcinoma in terms of incidence. ICC is often diagnosed at an advanced stage and has a poor prognosis. One of the significant challenges in managing ICC is the high risk of recurrence and progression after initial treatment. Therefore, it is imperative to understand the factors and mechanisms that contribute to ICC recurrence and progression, and to devise effective strategies for their assessment, prevention, and treatment. This Special Issue focuses on the topic of “Recurrence and Prognosis of Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma: Basic and Clinical Research”. Our aim is to stimulate further interest and collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and patients in the fight against this devastating disease.

Within this research topic, we will concentrate on various aspects of ICC recurrence and prognosis, including but not limited to:
- Risk factors associated with ICC recurrence and progression;
- Potential mechanisms underlying ICC recurrence and progression;
- Evaluation and prevention of ICC recurrence and progression;
- Treatment of ICC recurrence and progression;
- Other clinical or basic studies related to ICC recurrence and recurrence.
