Special Issue Introduction

Regenerative medicine that employs stem cells for injury and disease treatment has shifted towards paracrine factors, with extracellular vesicles (EVs) being crucial mediators. EVs, including exosomes and microvesicles, participate in various processes ranging from cell communication to disease occurrence and progression and hold promising translational potentials for disease treatment. Additionally, biomedical engineering approaches have enhanced the delivery, targeting, and efficacy of EV therapy for customized medical purposes. In this Special Issue, we aim to bring together the advances of EVs-related research and explore the prospects for improved healthcare in the field of regenerative medicine.
