Special Topic Introduction
This Special Issue will showcase cutting-edge research, advancements, and challenges in the development of carbon-based materials for applications in energy conversion and storage. It aims to uncover new research opportunities by featuring multidisciplinary work on carbon nanomaterials, electrode design, interfacial engineering, electrochemical mechanisms, and device fabrication, among other closely aligned related to the advancement of high-performance and sustainable energy technologies. Original research articles, reviews, and perspectives are welcome.
Scope and Topics
This Special Issue invites contributions focused on carbon-based materials for energy conversion and storage. Topics include, but are not limited to:
● Carbon-based materials for rechargeable batteries (Li, Na, K, Zn, etc.);
● Carbon materials for supercapacitors;
● Carbon-based electrocatalysts (oxygen reduction, oxygen evolution, hydrogen evolution, etc.);
● Carbon materials for fuel cells;
● Carbon materials for water splitting;
● Electrode/electrolyte interfacial engineering;
● Design and architecture of carbon-based electrodes;
● Carbon coatings and surface modification;
● In situ and ex situ characterization techniques;
● Theoretical modeling and simulation;
● Fabrication techniques.
