Special Topic Introduction
The urgent global mandate for a carbon-neutral future is driving unprecedented demand for innovative renewable energy solutions. The transition from fossil fuels to sustainable sources hinges on our ability not only to generate clean energy but also to store and distribute it efficiently. Addressing these complex challenges requires the development of advanced materials that can drive the key processes of energy conversion and storage, thereby enabling a seamless and sustainable energy cycle.
This Special Issue, "Sustainability Strategies in Emerging Advanced Materials for Energy Production and Storage," is dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge research at the intersection of materials science, chemistry, and engineering. We aim to highlight the development, characterization, and application of novel—often bio-inspired or earth-abundant—materials that enable a greener energy landscape.
We invite the submission of high-quality original research articles and comprehensive reviews. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: nanostructured material design, low-toxicity catalysts, advanced characterization techniques, device engineering, integrated energy systems, artificial intelligence (AI)-guided materials discovery, and sustainability assessments such as life cycle analysis, environmental impact evaluation, and techno-economic analysis.
