Special Topic Introduction
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI), digital twin technology, multi-modal imaging, and biological data is propelling orthopedics into a new era – one that advances beyond “precision diagnosis and treatment” toward “intelligent prediction and virtual regeneration.” AI is reshaping diagnostic paradigms and surgical approaches in orthopedic practice, while digital twin technology enables the development of patient-specific virtual models that allow dynamic simulation, prediction, and intervention from the molecular to the tissue level.
This Special Issue aims to showcase the latest advances and applications of AI and digital twin technologies in orthopedic disease management, intelligent surgery, bone regeneration, and regenerative medicine, fostering multidisciplinary integration and clinical translation in smart orthopedics.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
1. Applications of AI in the precision diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic diseases;
2. AI-enabled orthopedic surgery and robotic technologies;
3. Innovative applications of digital twin technology in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic conditions;
4. Integration of AI and digital twinapproaches in bone regeneration and regenerative medicine.
