Welcome Prof. Gang Zhang as Editor-in-Chief of NanoThermal

OAE's newly launched international open access journal NanoThermal is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Gang Zhang as its Editor-in-Chief. Prof. Zhang is currently a Strategic Scientist and Doctoral Supervisor at the Yangtze Delta Region Academy of the Beijing Institute of Technology, Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China.

About the Journal

NanoThermal is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to advancing research in nanoscale thermal science and engineering. It aims to provide a reliable platform for studies that enhance the understanding, prediction, and control of heat generation, transport, and dissipation at the nanoscale.

NanoThermal bridges nanoscale thermal management with computational materials science, multiscale modeling, and data-driven approaches. It publishes a range of article types, including Original Research Articles, Reviews/Mini-Reviews, Short Communications, Perspectives, Opinions, Feature Articles, Commentaries, Editorials, Research Highlights, and News. The journal's scope encompasses nanoscale heat transfer, phonon and interfacial thermal transport, low-dimensional and heterogeneous materials, and the computational design of advanced thermal materials and devices for applications in electronics, energy systems, and emerging nanotechnologies.

About Prof. Gang Zhang

Prof. Gang Zhang

Prof. Gang Zhang is an internationally recognized researcher in nanoscale heat transfer and thermal management. He received his PhD from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and was recently recruited through China's national leading talent programs. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) and a Fellow of the Institute of Physics (IOP), United Kingdom, reflecting his sustained contributions to the global research community.

Prof. Zhang's research focuses on thermal transport in nanostructures, computational materials science, and the design of energy-efficient nanoscale systems. His work has laid foundational theoretical frameworks for understanding heat conduction beyond classical laws in low-dimensional materials. He has authored and co-authored more than 450 research articles, with an H-index of 85 (Scopus).

During his career, Prof. Zhang has held research and faculty positions at several leading institutions, including the Institute of High Performance Computing, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, and Peking University, Beijing, China. He has also led major research initiatives in areas such as waste heat recovery and artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted materials design.

As Editor-in-Chief of NanoThermal, Prof. Zhang will oversee the journal's editorial direction and academic standards, guiding the publication of high-quality research in nanoscale thermal science and engineering. His extensive editorial experience and international collaborations are expected to support the journal's steady development and to attract cutting-edge contributions from researchers worldwide.
