Special Interview with Prof. Yuman C. Fong

Expert’s Introduction
Prof. Yuman Fong is the Sangiacomo Chair and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the City of Hope Medical Center. He was elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2021. Previously, he held the Murray F. Brennan Chair in Surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. Prof. Fong is an internationally recognized expert in cancers of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts. He has led the research effort to employ genetically modified viruses to destroy cancer cells. Additionally, he has developed many new surgical techniques and instruments and has written and edited hundreds of scholarly articles and nearly a dozen textbooks.
