OAE Hosted Successful Academic Salon at Chang'an University's School of Energy and Electrical Engineering
On October 21, 2024, OAE Publishing held an engaging in-person academic salon at Chang'an University. The event provided students with access to high-quality academic resources, hands-on experience in research and manuscript preparation, and practical guidance for overcoming challenges in publishing SCI journal papers.
The event was warmly supported by Wen Li, Deputy Secretary of the School of Energy and Electrical Engineering, and Prof. Yasong Sun, both of whom attended in person. OAE Publishing was represented by Publisher Haidi Ding and Manuscript Processing Center Manager Wang Junyan, along with other team members.

Practical Guidance for SCI PapersPublisher Haidi Ding introduced OAE Publishing's history and highlighted its flagship journals. She provided an accessible explanation of open-access publishing, helping students understand its purpose and value.
She then outlined the manuscript submission process for SCI journals, covering key steps in journal selection, submission, and peer review. Students were guided on efficiently using international databases to locate and retrieve relevant literature, improving their ability to gather and apply information in research and writing.

Navigating Manuscript ReviewJunyan Wang focused on common challenges in manuscript review and strategies to address them. She provided practical guidance for students preparing submissions or navigating the review process, including professional ways to respond to reviewers' comments and how to interpret initial rejections constructively.
She also explained the peer-review process in detail, highlighting key evaluation criteria and providing insights into reviewers' priorities. This training equipped students with the knowledge to follow academic standards and laid a strong foundation for future research endeavors.

Scientific Writing and Language TrainingRecognizing the language challenges students face when writing scientific papers in English, Qiaoyu Yang offered targeted guidance on academic writing. Through case studies, she analyzed common issues such as grammatical errors, unclear phrasing, and repetitive sentence structures. She emphasized precision, conciseness, and logical flow, providing practical strategies to improve clarity and persuasiveness in scientific writing.
Yang also introduced OAE's professional editing services, explaining their workflow and benefits. Her guidance helped students avoid common writing pitfalls and better present their research to an international audience, enhancing the impact of their work.

At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Sun delivered closing remarks, summarizing the skills and knowledge covered in the sessions.
