The 6th Cancer Summit Forum (China)
The 6th Cancer Summit Forum, hosted by OAE Publishing Inc. and supported by OAE journals Hepatoma Research and Journal of Cancer Metastasis and Treatment, was held in Chongqing, China from March 29 to 31, 2023. The forum was organized by Chongqing Jinfeng Laboratory, with a total area of 812,666 square meters, positioned as a new model of municipal-level laboratories and a new driving force for national-level laboratories and focusing on life health, and brought together top influential Chinese experts in the field to share their cutting-edge research on cancer, and attracted more than 100 attendees from the field of cancer research to participate on-spot. In addition, the forum was widely broadcasted by several media partners, with nearly 60,000 online viewers.
The forum was co-chaired by Prof. Guangwen Cao, the Editor-in-Chief of Hepatoma Research and the director of the Department of Epidemiology and Health Statistics at Naval Medical University, Prof. Xiuwu Bian, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Director of the Jinfeng Laboratory. The forum invited 10 guest speakers, including three Academicians - Zhenglin Yang, Weihong Tan, and Gaojun Teng, and other experts in the field of tumor research. They gave special speeches and had in-depth academic exchanges and discussions.
The 10 brilliant speeches at the forum focused on the following topics:
1. Cancer Evolutionary Developmental Biology: Cancer Prevention and Control Science Supported by Series of Evidence (Speaker: Guangwen Cao, Director of the Navy Epidemiology Teaching and Research Office of the Navy Medical University, National Distinguished Young Scholar, and Changjiang Scholar)
2. Molecular Pathological Mechanisms of Retinoblastoma and Glaucoma (Speaker: Zhenglin Yang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dean of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital)
3. Application and Exploration of Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (Speaker: Xi Zhang, National Distinguished Young Scholar and Director of Hematology Department of Chongqing Xinqiao Hospital)
4. Current Status and Direction of Tumor Immunotherapy (Speaker: Bo Zhu, National Distinguished Young Scholar and Director of Oncology Department of Chongqing Xinqiao Hospital)
5. Protein Molecular Mapping of Single Cancer Cells (Speaker: Weihong Tan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and expert in analytical chemistry and chemical biology)
6. Treatment Strategies for Intermediate and Late-stage Liver Cancer: Intervention-based Combined Therapy (Speaker: Gaojun Teng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Department of Liver Cancer of Zhongda Hospital Southeast University)
7. Mechanism and Intervention Strategy of Epstein-Barr Virus Infection (Speaker: Musheng Zeng, National Distinguished Young Scholar, Deputy Director, and Deputy Dean of the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center of Sun Yat-sen University)
8. Precision Diagnosis and Resistance Mechanisms of T-cell Lymphoma (Speaker: Qingqing Cai, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Medicine of the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University)
9. Metabolic Remodeling Laws and Mechanisms of Disease Occurrence and Development (Speaker: Zeping Hu, Research Institute of the School of Pharmacy, Tsinghua University)
10. Promoting Open Science and Building an International Academic Exchange Platform: Taking OAE Development as an Example (Speaker: Juanjuan Ma, Publishing Director of OAE Publishing Inc.)
After the forum, Prof. Xiuwu Bian invited all participants to visit the Chongqing Jinfeng Laboratory. He introduced the history and construction of the laboratory, and shared the research he and his team are conducting and some advances they have made. The visitors were captivated by his passionate introduction and impressed by his infectious enthusiasm for building and developing the laboratory. Additionally, he presented stunning visuals that showcased his team's innovative work, and demonstrated the unwavering commitment of a scientist who dedicated his life to pursuing his scientific dream.
