At the CCTB 2023 conference held from April 9 to 11, the 2nd CSEMV & EVCNA Outstanding Academic Achievement Award was announced. This prestigious award, jointly initiated by the EVCNA (Extracellular Vesicles and Circulating Nucleic Acids) and CSEMV (Chinese Society of Exosomes and Microvesicles), recognizes exceptional contributions to the field of extracellular vesicles in greater China. Prof. Tiebang Kang from the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center at Sun Yat-sen University in China was honored with this award for his groundbreaking research.

Prof. Kang's achievement is attributed to his team's discovery of the potential mechanism of activated STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) transfer between cells to promote anti-tumor immunity. Additionally, they identified a novel organelle called Rafesome (RAB22A-mediated fusion of atypical autophagosomes and early endosomes), which offers a fresh perspective for understanding intercellular communication involving organelle membrane proteins.

Congratulations once again to Prof. Kang! In the future, we look forward to witnessing more scholars in the field making remarkable contributions. Stay tuned for the 3rd CSEMV & EVCNA Outstanding Academic Achievement Award!
