Dr. Lexie Shannon Holliday Appointed as Associate Editor of Extracellular Vesicles and Circulating Nucleic Acids

The Editorial Office of Extracellular Vesicles and Circulating Nucleic Acids (EVCNA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lexie Shannon Holliday as Associate Editor, effective July 2026, for a renewable two-year term. This appointment recognizes his distinguished scientific contributions to bone biology and extracellular vesicle (EV) research, as well as his longstanding commitment to advancing translational and interdisciplinary biomedical science.

About Dr. Lexie Shannon Holliday

Dr. Lexie Shannon Holliday is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Florida, College of Dentistry. He brings more than two decades of academic research experience and has established an internationally recognized research program focused on bone biology, EVs, and the molecular mechanisms regulating skeletal remodeling. His work integrates cell biology, molecular biology, and translational dentistry to advance our understanding of bone homeostasis and craniofacial diseases.

Dr. Holliday's research focuses on the biological functions of osteoclasts, odontoclasts, and extracellular vesicles in bone remodeling and pathological bone resorption. His laboratory has made significant contributions to elucidating the roles of osteoclast-derived extracellular vesicles, vacuolar-type H+-ATPase (V-ATPase), and receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL)/receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB (RANK) signaling in skeletal metabolism. He has also pioneered EV-based diagnostic strategies for periodontal disease and orthodontic root resorption, thereby contributing to advances in precision diagnostics and regenerative medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr. Holliday has led multiple research projects supported by the U.S. National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications, and mentored numerous graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. His sustained contributions have significantly advanced our understanding of EV biology and its translational applications in skeletal and craniofacial health.

As Associate Editor, Dr. Holliday will bring his extensive expertise in extracellular vesicle biology, bone remodeling, regenerative medicine, and translational dentistry to the journal’s editorial and peer-review processes. This appointment further strengthens EVCNA's editorial leadership in the rapidly evolving fields of EV research and precision medicine.
