Artificial Intelligence Surgery Reaches a New Impact Factor Milestone in the 2026 Journal Citation Reports
We are delighted to announce that Artificial Intelligence Surgery (AIS) has achieved a new milestone in the latest edition of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) released by Clarivate.
AIS has received a 2026 Journal Impact Factor of 3.9, up from 3.6 in 2025, representing an 8.3% increase. This marks the journal's second official Impact Factor and highlights its rapidly expanding influence within the interdisciplinary fields of artificial intelligence and surgery.
Following the attainment of its first Impact Factor in 2025, AIS has continued its upward trajectory by publishing high-quality, clinically relevant, and innovative research. The sustained increase in Impact Factor reflects growing recognition within the global scientific community and underscores the journal's rising citation performance and academic visibility.
Since its inception, AIS has been dedicated to advancing research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and surgical science, serving as a platform for cutting-edge developments in:
- AI-assisted surgical decision-making
- Surgical robotics and intelligent systems
- Computer vision and image-guided surgery
- Smart operating rooms and digital surgery
- Foundation models and generative AI in surgery
- Precision surgery and personalized surgical care
- Surgical education and simulation technologies
As artificial intelligence continues to transform healthcare and surgical practice worldwide, AIS remains committed to publishing impactful research that bridges the gap between technological innovation and clinical application.
