Prof. Liping Zhao is a leading expert in microbiome research and currently serves as Chair Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at Rutgers University, USA. He earned his Ph.D. in microbiology from Nanjing Agricultural University and has made groundbreaking contributions to the understanding of gut microbiota and its role in human health and metabolic diseases. Prof. Zhao's research integrates microbiology, systems biology, and nutritional science to explore how dietary interventions can reshape the gut microbiome for therapeutic benefits. He is particularly known for his work on gut microbiota-targeted dietary strategies to prevent and manage obesity and type 2 diabetes. With over 200 peer-reviewed publications, his research has been widely recognized and cited. Prof. Zhao also serves on the editorial boards of several international journals and has been instrumental in promoting microbiome-based approaches in clinical nutrition and precision medicine.
