Moo Been Chang received his Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1992). He held the position of Professor of Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Central University in Taiwan since August 1997. Prof. Chang was the Chair (2003-2007) of Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering, the coordinator of Department of Environmental Engineering, National Science Council (2007-2010) and the director of Taiwan Association for Aerosol Research (2016-2018). He has also served on numerous reviewing panels for National Science Council of Taiwan and Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration (TEPA). He is a member of Air and Waste Management Association, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Taiwan Association for Aerosol Research, Chinese Institute of Engineer and the Chinese Institute of Environmental Engineering. Prof. Chang has received various honors and awards such as Academic Outstanding Research Award (2018, Taiwan MOST), Best Academic Paper Award (2019, Taiwan Association for Aerosol Research), Distinguished Engineering Professor Award (2019, Chinese Institute of Engineer) and Engineering Medal (academic research category) (2020, The Chinese Institute of Environmental Engineering). His research activities cover: Dioxins/Furans/PCBs/PAHs: formation mechanisms, emission characteristics, and control technologies;Nonthermal plasma technologies: application on reducing the emissions of NOx, SO2, VOCs, PFCs, and mercury.
