Prof. Hongbin Wang

President, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine
Hongbin Wang, Doctor, Professor, Doctoral supervisor, President of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. He was recognized as a "Middle-aged and Young Leading Talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation" by the Ministry of Science and Technology (2016) and a leading talent in the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program" (2017). He has received multiple prestigious honors, including:
  • National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2014)
  • Joint Fund for Regional Innovation and Development, National Natural Science Foundation of China (2022)
  • First Prize in Teaching Achievement, Guangdong Province (2017, first contributor)
  • Second Prize in Natural Science, Guangdong Science and Technology Award (2022, first contributor)
Prof. Wang's research focuses on plant physiology and traditional Chinese medicine resource science. As a corresponding author, he has published extensively in journals such as Cell Host & Microbe, PNAS, Plant Cell, Nature Communications, Molecular Plant, and Cell Reports. His work has been featured as ESI Hot and Highly Cited Papers, recommended by F1000, and selected as cover articles or highlight papers. The National Natural Science Foundation of China’s "Fund News" has reported on his work multiple times.

Prof. Kewei Zhao

Director, Guangdong Engineering Research Center for Chinese Herbal Vesicles
Kewei Zhao, M.D., Chief Technician, Ph.D. Supervisor, Postdoctoral Co-Supervisor, and Leader of Basic Disciplines of Integrative Medicine at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. He holds the following positions:
  • Director, Guangdong Engineering Research Center for Chinese Herbal Vesicles
  • Project Leader, Guangdong Chinese Herbal Vesicles Pilot Platform
  • Director, Department of Medical Laboratory/Transfusion/Pathology at the Third Affiliated Hospital, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine
  • Director, Guangzhou Key Laboratory of Chinese Medicine Research on Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis
  • Director, Laboratory Department, Third Clinical Medical College, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine
Prof. Zhao has long focused on basic research and clinical translation related to Chinese herbal-derived extracellular vesicles and bone metabolic diseases. He led the release of the world's first bilingual Expert Consensus on the Research and Application of Chinese Herbal Vesicles (2023 Edition). He has published influential papers in Acta Pharm Sin B, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, and Phytomedicine, secured multiple patents (including PCT applications), and successfully commercialized technologies valued at 6.2 million RMB. Over the past five years, he has led 14 major national and provincial projects and trained a high-level team, including one provincial-level and one municipal-level young talent, as well as over thirty postdoctoral, doctoral, and master's students.
