Bio
Dr. Satoshi Ohnishi obtained his B.E. and master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and a Ph.D. in Environmental system Studies from Toyo University, Japan, in 2012. He worked for National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), Japan as a research associate during 2012-2016 and at the Tokyo University of Science as an assistant professor during 2016-2021 in industrial ecology, especially industrial symbiosis, circular economy, and urban design. He is a senior researcher at Fukushima Regional Collaborative Research Center, NIES, Japan. The challenging research topic is regional collaborative research contributing to the revitalization and management of the regional environment achieving carbon neutrality with a co-creation approach in Fukushima Prefecture, which experienced a nuclear disaster in 2011, based on his experience and knowledge of Industrial ecology; Eco-industrial development; Industrial symbiosis; Life cycle assessment; Technology assessment; Regional analysis. Widely, he tries to contribute to creating a sustainable local environment that improves local communities' disaster environmental resilience in preparation for large-scale disasters by utilizing our efforts in local communities for global solutions.
