To address the hydrothermal instability of MOFs, Li et al. engineered hydrophobic Cu-BTC-P-235 (11 mmol·g-1·h-1)[87] and CUS-M-P-210 (83 mmol·g-1·h-1)[88] (A and B) catalysts via polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) modification, where Cu(I) and Fe(II) sites heterolytically cleave H2O2 and form Fe(IV)=O species (C), respectively, for distinct methane activation pathways.
