Correction: Contribution of 3D virtual modeling in locating hepatic metastases, particularly “vanishing tumors”: a pilot study
MAIN TEXT
Correction to Art Int Surg 2024; 10.20517/ais.2024.23
The authors would like to make the following corrections to the published paper[1]. The changes are as follows:
Explanation of Authorship, Funding, and Methodology Revisions
Authorship changes
Revisions have been made to the authorship list to more accurately reflect individual contributions to the study:
• Addition of Dr. Etienne Danse: Dr. Danse served as the principal investigator and played a crucial role in initiating the ethics committee application.
• Addition of Mr. Nicolas Michoux: Mr. Michoux was responsible for managing the statistical analysis, which was essential to the success of the study.
These changes ensure proper acknowledgment of their significant contributions. Dr. Etienne Danse and Dr. Nicolas Michoux both participated in the study. At the time of initial submission, however, they had already retired, and we did not have access to their email addresses to confirm whether they wished to be listed as co-authors. We have now been able to contact them and have obtained their consent to include their names.
Authors’ contributions (updated)
Conception and design, data analysis and interpretation: Salavracos M, de Hemptinne A, De Poortere T
Data acquisition, administrative, technical, and materiel support: Salavracos M, Coubeau L
Initiating the ethics committee application: Danse E
Managing the statistical analysis: Michoux N
Funding support revisions
The funding section has been updated to acknowledge Dr. Etienne Danse, who personally financed the production of the 3D-printed models used in this research. His contribution was instrumental to the implementation and progress of the study.
Updated statement:
The research was mainly funded by the principal investigator, Etienne Danse.
Special thanks to Prof. Etienne Danse for his financial support, particularly for funding the 3D-printed models.
Methodology updates
The methodology section has been revised to provide greater clarity regarding the tools and processes used:
• The IntelliSpace Portal software was initially employed to create the first virtual 3D models. These early models were foundational to the study and are now explicitly detailed in the updated methodology section.
Additional modifications
Other changes were primarily rewording for accuracy and clarity, with the following justifications:
• Line 127: Revised to align with terminology commonly used when interpreting an agreement.
• Line 133: Corrected to state that a Wilcoxon test compares medians, not means.
• Line 144: Adjusted to remain consistent with the revision at Line 127.
• Line 245: Completed the sentence to clarify the definition of the gold standard.
• Line 299 (Table 2): Updated to display values with three decimals throughout.
• Line 307 (Table 3): Updated to display values with three decimals throughout.
• Line 310: Corrected to note that a Wilcoxon test compares medians, not means.
• Line 317: Reformulated clarity.
These corrections do not affect the final conclusions of the article. Instead, they were made to improve transparency and ensure accuracy in reporting the study’s methods and results.
