AGI and Applications is an international peer-reviewed, open access journal.

Aims and Scope

AGI and Applications is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the scientific foundations, architectures, methodologies, and real-world applications of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). The journal publishes high-quality original research that advances intelligent systems capable of adaptive reasoning, knowledge acquisition, autonomous decision-making, cross-domain learning, and general problem-solving. It places particular emphasis on scientific rigor, methodological transparency, reproducibility, and innovative contributions that deepen understanding and realization of increasingly capable intelligent systems.

The journal serves as a leading interdisciplinary platform for researchers exploring the theoretical, computational, cognitive, and practical dimensions of general intelligence. It welcomes studies that integrate foundational theories, algorithmic innovation, cognitive modeling, and comprehensive experimental validation to address fundamental challenges in artificial intelligence and autonomous intelligent systems. The journal seeks contributions that advance both scientific understanding and responsible deployment of AGI technologies across diverse domains.

Research topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Foundations of Artificial General Intelligence: Theoretical frameworks for general intelligence, computational models of cognition, reasoning and problem-solving mechanisms, knowledge acquisition, memory systems, intelligence measurement, cognitive architectures, and interdisciplinary perspectives on the nature and evolution of intelligent behavior.
  • General-Purpose Learning Systems: Machine learning, deep learning, representation learning, self-supervised learning, continual learning, transfer learning, meta-learning, few-shot learning, lifelong learning, and adaptive learning systems designed to operate across multiple domains and tasks.
  • Large-Scale Foundation Models and Emergent Intelligence: Large language models, multimodal foundation models, vision-language systems, generative intelligence, emergent capabilities, reasoning mechanisms, world models, and architectures that support increasingly general and transferable intelligence.
  • Knowledge Representation, Reasoning, and Decision-Making: Symbolic and neuro-symbolic intelligence, knowledge graphs, logical reasoning, causal inference, planning systems, uncertainty-aware decision-making, commonsense reasoning, and intelligent problem-solving frameworks.
  • Autonomous Agents and Agentic Intelligence: Intelligent agents, multi-agent systems, autonomous decision-making, collaborative intelligence, agent coordination, adaptive behavior, human-agent interaction, and autonomous systems capable of operating in dynamic and uncertain environments.
  • Embodied Intelligence and Intelligent Robotics: Robotic intelligence, embodied cognition, autonomous robotics, intelligent perception, sensor fusion, navigation, manipulation, human-robot collaboration, and physical systems that integrate learning, reasoning, and action.
  • Human-Centered and Collaborative Intelligence: Human-AI collaboration, interactive learning, explainable intelligence, cognitive augmentation, personalized intelligent systems, user-adaptive technologies, and approaches that enhance human decision-making and productivity.
  • Safe, Trustworthy, and Responsible AGI: AI alignment, trustworthy intelligent systems, interpretability, transparency, robustness, reliability, uncertainty quantification, fairness, accountability, privacy, security, governance, and risk assessment for advanced intelligent systems.
  • Scalable and Efficient Intelligence Systems: Distributed intelligence, computational efficiency, resource-aware learning, model optimization, intelligent infrastructure, edge intelligence, cloud-based AI systems, and scalable architectures supporting advanced intelligent capabilities.
  • Scientific Discovery and Computational Intelligence: AI-driven scientific research, automated hypothesis generation, computational modeling, scientific reasoning systems, intelligent simulation, digital laboratories, and intelligent systems that accelerate scientific and engineering discovery.
  • Applications of AGI and Advanced Intelligent Systems: Applications in healthcare, intelligent manufacturing, transportation, education, finance, cybersecurity, environmental sustainability, smart cities, energy systems, communications, scientific research, and other domains where advanced intelligent systems contribute to complex decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Important Social and Economic Impacts of AGI and Its Applications: Critiques, social and economic perspectives, sustainable development, regulations, and management, aiming to provide constructive thoughts, ideas, and methodologies for building a better humanity and world through AI and AGI.

The journal particularly encourages submissions that combine theoretical innovation with practical relevance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and rigorous experimental validation. Application-oriented studies should demonstrate significant methodological advances, novel intelligent capabilities, or meaningful scientific insights.

By fostering collaboration across computer science, engineering, cognitive science, mathematics, neuroscience, social sciences, and related disciplines, AGI and Applications aims to advance the development, understanding, and responsible deployment of intelligent systems capable of addressing complex scientific, technological, and societal challenges.
