Biography:
Gennaro Selvaggi, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. He graduated in Medicine and specialized in Plastic Surgeon at the Catholic University in Rome, Italy.
In 2010, he obtained a Ph.D. in Gender Affirming Surgery from the University of Ghent, Belgium. He furthered his qualifications by completing an MSc in Leading and Managing in Healthcare Organizations from Plymouth University in 2013, and an MA in Global Public Health with a major in Bioethics from New York University in 2018.
Since 2011, Dr. Selvaggi has been leading the Program for Gender Affirming Surgery at the department of Plastic Surgery at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
Dr. Selvaggi has presented at over 176 international scientific conferences and published 86 peer-reviewed articles and 14 book chapters. He is also the editor of a book on Gender Affirming Vaginoplasty and serves on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed journals.
