Prof. Mark K. Wax
Prof. Mark K. Wax, MD, is Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. He serves as the Director of Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery and has previously held the prestigious titles of President of the American Society of Head and Neck Surgeons, President of the American Association of Otolaryngologists, and Chair of the American Microvascular Committee.
Prof. Wax’s major areas of expertise are otolaryngology, head and neck cancer, microvascular reconstruction and free flap. With an impressive record, he has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and written more than 8 textbooks.

Dr. Arshad Kaleem is a Maxillofacial/Head and Neck Oncologic and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgeon in El Paso, Texas and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas, San Antonio. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also the Co-Program Director of the Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive.
Dr. Kaleem worked as an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Miami for 5 years before moving to El Paso. Dr. Kaleem’s interests are in the treatment and management of head and neck cancer and reconstructive surgery, correction of dentofacial deformities, facial reconstruction, microneural repair of nerve injuries, maxillofacial trauma, surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea and dental/oral rehabilitation of cancer and trauma patients.

Dr. Eric M. Genden, MD, MHCA, FACS, is the Isidore Friesner Professor and Chair of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, and Professor of Neurosurgery and Immunology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is Chair of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Executive Vice President of Ambulatory Surgery, and Director of the Head and Neck Institute at the Mount Sinai Health System.
Dr. Genden is internationally recognized as a leader and innovator in the management of oropharyngeal cancers and microvascular reconstruction of the head and neck. His clinical expertise also encompasses thyroid and parathyroid surgery. In addition to his clinical endeavors, Dr. Genden oversees a National Institutes of Health-funded basic science laboratory that studies the transplantation immune biology of the trachea and larynx. He is also co-investigator on more than a dozen clinical trials.
