Dr. Luis Alberto Cisternas Arapio, a luminary in Chemical Engineering, played a pivotal role as the Sponsoring Researcher for the Fondecyt-postdoctorate 3140013 project from 2013 to 2015. His expertise lies in mineral processing, systems design, and optimization, with a significant focus on thermodynamic modeling using the ASOG method in systems involving ionic liquids. Graduating in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Catolica del Norte in 1986 and later from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1993, Dr. Cisternas Arapio showcases an enduring commitment to academic excellence and global learning experiences. Since 2001, he has been an unwavering pillar at the Universidad de Antofagasta, assuming leadership roles like Executive Director, Associate Dean, Head of the Master's Degree in Engineering Science, and Full Professor.
