Cover Picture: Many large animals have been utilized in neuroscience research, including horses, cows, pigs, sheep, dogs, and cats. Due to the similarities in neuroanatomy and physiology, many large animals can provide an emerging, convenient, and applicable disease model to reflect human conditions. Animal models play a crucial role in elucidating the pathogenesis and/or treatment of diseases such as prion diseases, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and ischemic stroke. These animal models contribute not only to neuroscience research but also to general biomedical studies. Conclusions drawn from these animal experiments will aid in a deeper understanding of disease mechanisms, potentially advancing tools for the treatment of human patients. This further reinforces the concept of "One Health".
