Special Issue Introduction

Wound repair is the foundation of surgery, with wound healing being an integral aspect of any surgical procedure or trauma recovery. However, the demands for patient treatment are substantial, and the field of wound repair remains relatively nascent. Nanomaterials occupy a significant position in the field of therapeutic wound healing due to their low cost, catalytic activity, and promising potential for clinical application. The development of innovative nanomaterials can contribute to accelerating progress in wound repair. Nevertheless, there is still much work to be explored to address the diverse therapeutic requirements of patients. As an Editorial Board Member of the journal PAR, I'm honored to organize the Special Issue titled "Innovative Nanomaterials in Wound Healing". This initiative aims to facilitate communication and exploration of cutting-edge nanomaterials among expert colleagues, fostering an environment of continuous learning and keeping abreast of new advances in the field. The objective is to meet the therapeutic needs of patients with traumatic injuries through research specifically focused on nanomaterials within the realm of wound repair surgery.

Possible topics for contributions include, but are not limited to:

Innovative nanomaterials and composite nanomaterials aimed at enhancing wound healing (e.g., metal nanozymes, nanomaterial composite hydrogels, and MN wound dressings);

Basic research and mechanistic investigation concerning nanomaterials related to wound repair;

Novel nanomaterials for tissue regeneration, such as skin, cartilage, or muscle.
