Topic: Creativity, Complications, and Care in Gender-Affirming Surgery

Dear Colleagues,

We invite authors to submit manuscripts for this Special Issue dedicated to creativity, complications, and care in gender-affirming surgery. Rapid progress in microsurgical techniques, perioperative management, medical imaging, and outcomes research continues to redefine reconstructive possibilities and improve long-term, patient-centered results. This Special Issue aims to present high-quality scientific evidence, technical innovations, and thoughtful clinical perspectives that inform contemporary practice in gender-affirming care.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, genital reconstruction and organ transplantation, the development of new technologies and surgical techniques to improve gender-affirming surgeries, addressing strategies for the prevention and management of complications, and preoperative assessment and preparatory recommendations to improve surgical success. Through this collection, we hope to advance academic and clinical dialogue in gender-affirming surgeries to continue to promote new and better outcomes for patients seeking this care.
